Make it together

  1. Fold a square of white paper in half, then in half again with grown-up help.
  2. Ask a grown-up to cut two or three small notches along the folded edges.
  3. Gently open the paper to reveal a snowflake and its repeating shapes.
  4. Glue your finished snowflake onto blue paper and draw more tiny snow dots.

Learn while you create

Talk about how repeating patterns appear when the paper opens. Every snowflake can look different.

Safety note: A grown-up should make all snowflake cuts. Avoid loose glitter and small choking hazards.
