Here's what you're making. Original concept illustration of a possible finished project, not a photograph. Your child's handmade craft may look different.

Make it together

  1. Lay a large piece of blue paper flat as your pretend ocean.
  2. A grown-up cuts two or three big fish shapes from colored paper.
  3. Decorate the fish with drawn scales and fins, then glue them into the ocean.
  4. Add big paper bubbles, wavy green seaweed and a friendly ocean floor.

Learn while you create

Count the fish and bubbles. Ask your child where each fish might swim.

Safety note: Adult preparation is needed for cutting. Use large paper pieces instead of beads or tiny sequins.
