Illustrated example of a finished Handprint turkey keepsake
Here's what you're making. Original concept illustration of a possible finished project, not a photograph. Your child's handmade craft may look different.

Make it together

  1. Trace your child's hand on brown construction paper, fingers gently spread.
  2. A grown-up cuts out the hand shape and three or four colorful paper feathers.
  3. Glue feathers behind the traced fingers and add an orange paper triangle for the beak.
  4. Draw two friendly eyes and a smile. Add the year on the back as a keepsake.

Learn while you create

Count the feathers and name one thing you are grateful for as you glue each one.

Safety note: A grown-up handles cutting and keeps craft materials away from mouths.
