First Day I Spy

About this activity:
Look closely and count school supplies hidden around a classroom table.

Suggested age: 3–6 with grown-up support
You will need: US Letter paper, a printer and crayons or a pencil.

Steps:
1. Look at the pictures together and name the objects you notice.
2. Count slowly, pointing to one object at a time.
3. Write, trace or circle the matching number as the page instructs.

Skills practiced: Counting, Number recognition, Observation

Talk about it:
- What are you excited to learn at school?
- How do you feel about trying a new thing?
- Who can help you when you feel nervous?
